Hello GSWS majors, minors, and students taking at least 1 GSWS course this semester!

The Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies Student Union (GSWSSU) will be holding our first meeting of the Fall semester on September 9th at 1:30 in the GSWS Lounge (just down the hall from AQ 5103 in the GSWS wing). We plan fun on-campus events (movie screenings, seminars/panels, BBQs, bake sales, etc.), contribute to Faculty conversations, and are even currently working on an on-campus initiative to bring a gender-inclusive Sexual Assault Support Centre to SFU Burnaby.

Being on the GSWSSU also looks great on your resume, as it provides experience in volunteer coordination, team-building/collaborative work, event planning, and many other valuable skills! The GSWSSU is looking to increase our membership as a Student Union and urge all who are interested in the GSWS Department, on-campus goings-ons and gender equality (yay!) to come to this meeting and see if the GSWSSU is right for you!

You can visit our Facebook page here to find out a bit more: https://www.sfu.ca/gsws/people/GSWS_Student_Union.html

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email Laura and Caroline, the GSWSSU Co-Chairs, at ws-pres@sfu.ca.

Hope to see many new faces!
