Colour and Art

The incorporation of colour into a room results in an unthreatening environment that improves visual processing, reduces stress and supports brain development through visual stimulation.  Colour variety creates a supportive environment conducive to productivity and well-being.  Arts, including visual and musical forms also have connections to well-being by lowering stress and anxiety levels and promoting a general improvement in mood. 


  • When possible, ensure a pleasant and inviting space through use of colour and different forms of art.  This can be achieved by hanging up colourful posters, pictures, and artwork or by playing music softly as the backdrop for independent or collaborative activities.
