Biography

I am a computational linguist and instructional designer, with a focus on online and blended learning environments. Since the beginning of my studies I was interested in investigating and exploring the field where the disciplines of Education and Computer Science converge. Educational technology is at the intersection of the two science domains and, therefore, the focal point of my academic interests. I have worked in the industry as a computational linguist, in projects like a digital thesaurus for Greek, and in the public sector as an elementary school teacher for thirteen years, the last five of which I have been seconded to Canada, to support Greek language learning in the diaspora. I have been part of the Center for six years, creating content for online Greek language courses, mediating the Ελληνομάθεια exams and providing Greek language teaching support. The last two years I have participated in Staellinika project as the academic coordinator, responsible for the instructional design of the digital learning environment.
