Byzantine Studies Conference 2023

On behalf of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Centre for Hellenic Studies, the Department of Global Humanities at Simon Fraser University, and the Lower Mainland's budding community of Byzantinists, I am delighted to welcome you back to Vancouver and the 49th parallel for the 49th annual BSANA Byzantine Studies Conference. This year's event will be held October 26-29 at SFU's Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue in downtown Vancouver, a hop skip and a jump from the city's scenic waterfront, a buzzing restaurant and bar scene, and much more.

To attend, please click the registration button below. This conference will be held in-person this year with no virtual component. Register before September 15, 2023 to take advantage of early registration rates.

Conference activities will take place at the Wosk Conference Centre at SFU Vancouver. Hotel rooms are available for conference attendees at the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Vancouver, which is a 10-15 minute walk from the conference site. Be sure to use the hotel information from this website to receive the conference rate when reserving your room. Book your rooms early as space is limited.
