International Engagement Fund for Student-Led Initiatives


The International Engagement Fund (IEF) supports institutional initiatives intended to advance SFU’s internationalization goals, and contribute meaningfully and sustainably to SFU’s international engagement. The purpose of this fund is to encourage the development of innovative and robust globally focused initiatives aligned with the SFU Vision and relevant strategies such as the Strategic Research Plan, the Academic Plan, and faculty or unit strategic plans.

The International Engagement Fund will provide seed funding to support strategic international collaborations, one-time costs to expand ongoing initiatives and the development of projects in alignment with institutional, faculty and unit strategies. Maximum funding available is $8,000 per proposal.

  • Proposal (recommended length of 3 pages)
  • Letters of support
