International Research Mobility


SFU International works with faculty to identify and pursue funding opportunities to support short-term research projects overseas as well as bringing international students and researchers to SFU to participate in short-term research projects.

We work with faculty and students to pursue funding applications, advise inbound and outbound funded research students, oversee the admission of inbound student as Visiting Resarch Students in partnership with the Office of Graduate and Postgraduate Programs, and disburse funds.

SFU-Mitacs Globalink Research Award Program

The Mitacs Globalink Research Award supports Canadian-based research collaborations between Canada and select partner countries. Successful applicants will receive $6000 towards conducting 12-24 week research projects. Learn more.
 

SFU-Griffith University Collaborative Travel Grants

The SFU-Griffith University Collaborative Travel Grants aim to expand cooperation, exchange of ideas and research collaborations between the two institutions. Grants will normally be awarded in the range of $5,000 to $15,000 and should be directed principally at travel costs. Learn more.

 

SFU-Strasbourg Collaborative Mobility Grants

The SFU-Strasbourg Collaborative Mobility Grants aim to promote collaboration between Simon Fraser University and the University of Strasbourg that has demonstrated potential to catalyze broad and sustained research collaborations leading to the development of a research ecosystem.  Learn more.
