Academic Advising

To book an advising appointment, please e-mail (no drop-in advising).

Important reminders:

  • You must include your student number in all correspondence.
  • If you are seeking academic advice, please attach your advising transcript (downloadable from the Student Information System) sorted by term and subject.
  • If you are a transfer student, please book an appointment to ensure that you are not duplicating courses here at SFU.
Please note that the Academic Progress Report (APR) accessed through goSFU is not accurate for IS or LAS programs.

It is the responsibility of each student to be aware of faculty regulations as stated in the Calendar. Departmental and faculty advisors and staff are available to give advice and guidance. However, the ultimate responsibility for completeness and correctness of course selection, for compliance with and completion of program and degree requirements and for observance of regulations and deadlines rests with the student.
