IPinCH team member Anne Pyburn, Professor of Anthropology, has received the Tracy M. Sonneborn Award and has also been named a Provost Professor by Indiana University. Recipients of these prestigious awards have achieved local, national, and international acclaim for their research and for teaching.

Anne was selected for her outstanding record of achievement as both a researcher and teacher. In 2012, Anne was also the recipient of Indiana University's James Philip Holland Award for Exemplary Teaching and Service to Students.

Winners of the Sonneborn Award give a public lecture focused on the intersections of their research and teaching accomplishments at a gala reception in their honour. They are also provided with funds to support the work of their students. Provost Professors are awarded a grant to be used on a project that demonstrates how teaching and research are mutually reinforcing.

Congratulations to Anne on this great achievement!
