Fumito is a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for the Reduction of Youth Violence and an Associate Professor at Shinshu University, Nagano, Japan. He was awarded his Ph.D. in Human Sciences from Waseda University, Saitama, Japan, under the supervision of Professor Hironori Shimada, completing his clinical internship at Katsushika-city Child Development Center, Tokyo. The focus of his research is to understand developmental differences in mechanisms of externalizing behavioral problems in adolescence and treatment of youth and their families who are suffered from those problems. Especially, he is interested in preventive approach for youths and parents that enhances their positive psychological functioning such as social problem solving.
