New Ways of Teaching, New Ways of Learning: Supporting Learning in Online Environments
Workshop facilitator and proposal coach
(Summer 2020 - Spring 2021)

Bees are known to be hard workers, effective collaborators, and harmonious beings—and that’s who I am as an educational developer at the Curriculum and Instruction Division at SFU's Centre for Educational Excellence (CEE). I have a PhD in History and Indigenous Studies from UCSB, located in the lands of the Chumash Peoples, and I’ve worked in educational development and policymaking in higher ed and EDI for over 17 years. My background as an interdisciplinary qualitative researcher and a participatory-based educator has allowed me to learn and make contributions as a scholar, professor, educational developer, and strategic planner in a range of areas such as: Instructional Design; Curriculum & Program Design; Multilingual teaching and learning; Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion; Decolonizing and Indigenizing Initiatives; Critical and Anti-Oppressive Pedagogies; Design Thinking and Social Innovation Labs.
