This software is available to staff, faculty, and students of Simon Fraser University. Please read the following terms and conditions. Downloading the software constitutes your acceptance of these terms.

  • Must be used exclusively by staff, faculty, or students of Simon Fraser University
  • Must be used within Canada, or
  • Used outside of Canada for no longer than three months of the license year
  • Must be used exclusively for teaching and research and administrative purposes only
  • Can be installed on one user-owned computer for home use
  • SFU IT Services does not and can not provide technical support for the usage of this software. Please contact SAS for support.

NOTE: A much smaller, leaner edition of "SAS® University Edition" is available directly from the publisher. This is a MUCH more simple install of SAS and will fulfill most undergraduate needs. Installation

1. Download

 

Off Campus

  • Click the download links below (parts 1-7)
  • Once downloaded, open the folder and double-click SAS-93.part1.exe and enter the password 's@s' to extract the SAS Software Depot.

Note: Off campus download occurs over HTTP, which can be unreliable with such large files.

2. Run the install

  • Double-click "setup.exe", found at the root of the SAS Software Depot folder
  • Complete the installation using the wizard
    • Select a preferred language.
    • When asked what deployment task to run, select "Install SAS software".
    • Advance through the remaining windows by click "Next >".
    • You may be asked to reboot after the wizard installs certain dependencies. Upon restart, double-click "setup.exe" and repeat the previous steps.
    • For more complex installations, talk to your department's technical support staff or SAS directly
    • If you have installation issues, "Troubleshooting the SAS® 9.3 installation process in a Windows operating environment" may be of use.

    Note: There are no client Linux or Solaris licenses available.

Installer Download

If you are not on an SFU network, you can download the installer files using your web browser

License Renewal

Please follow the Renewal Instructions guide provided by SAS to update an expired SAS license. The latest license expires March, 2018. The download package will require this renewal file! See below for a download of the current license.

I have an existing SAS install, how do I renew?
