What is my email address?
Your email address is yourID@sfu.ca (your SFU Computing ID), or FirstName_LastName@sfu.ca (as registered in the system), or FirstName.LastName@sfu.ca.
To look up SFU email addresses, you may go to the SFU Email Directory.
Edit your Preferred Email
Log into SFU Directory.
- Go to www.sfu.ca/sfuds
- Login with you SFU Computing ID and Password
- Click on 'Edit My Entry'
Select preferred email:
- Click on the 'Preferred Email' area to expand the menu of addressable emails.
- Click on the desired email address.
- Click 'Save Changes'
After saving, changes will take effect in the GAL after overnight processing.
Corrections to Departmental Affiliation and Preferred Name
The departmental affiliation and names displayed with your SFU Directory and GAL entry is controlled by a feed from Human Resources. If your departmental affiliation or name is incorrect, please contact Human Resources to correct the error. If you continue to experience issues after contacting HR, you may contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Students have the ability to change their preferred display name from within the Student Information System (sis.sfu.ca). In the SIS Student Center, click on "Names" (under Personal Information") and you will see the option to edit your preferred name. After saving changes, they will take effect in the SFU Directory and the SFU Connect Global Address List (GAL) once an overnight process has run.
If you are a staff member without access to SIS, please contact Human Resources to update your preferred name.
