Lab Support Servicesget help

Lab Helpdesk staff offer support for equipment and resources in all IT Services computer labs.  Limited support is available for software applications and personal computer issues.

Labs have a variety of software programs to serve your computing needs.  Labs are open to anyone with valid SFU Computing ID.  Visit the Labs and Locations web page for more information on hours of operation and location of the labs.

Lost and Found

Items left behind are turned in to Campus Security Lost and Found.  Photo identification will be required to recover a lost item. Every effort will be made to return a lost item to its rightful owner. 

To ensure a successful recovery, place some form of identification on any items carried on campus.  Place a name, email address, and/or phone number where you can be reached, somewhere in or on the item.

Change the drive name on USB drives from "Removable Disk" to your email address or phone number.

Open Notepad, type [autorun], including the brackets then press return.

Type icon=\myicon.ico, then press return.

Type lable=<your email address>

Save the file as autorun.inf to the root of the USB drive. 

Copy the icon file (*.ico) to the USB drive. 

Now whenever the drive is connected to the computer it will display the new drive name.  USB drives with no identification will be sent to Campus Security lost and found.
