The new SFU Print service provides a cost-effective managed printing, scanning, and photocopying service to meet the needs of SFU faculty and staff. It introduces new features to help improve the user experience, promote sustainability, and reduce the University's printing costs. Faculty and staff will receive key fobs to scan, copy, and release their print jobs at SFU Print devices.
Key Fob/Card Reader Issues
Certain types of key fob/cards are not being read correctly by the readers on SFU Print devices. To resolve this, we will be replacing the card readers on each device beginning Monday, October 29th. The schedule is as follows:
- Burnaby campus: Monday, October 29th – Friday, November 2nd
- Surrey and Vancouver campuses: Monday, November 5th – Friday, November 9th
This installation will take less than 5 minutes per device, and you’ll continue to be able to use the device during this time. However, you will need to authenticate either by PaperCut ID # or their SFU Computing ID while the card reader is being swapped out. You may also be asked to re-associate your key fob/card after the card readers are replaced.
