Call for Papers

Oral and poster papers presented at the 6th International Workshop on Relaxor Ferroelectrics (IWRF-2018) will be published in a Special Issue of the international journal Ferroelectrics.

NOTE: ONLY MANUSCRIPTS FROM THE PRESENTERS ARE ACCEPTABLE FOR PUBLICATION IN THE FERROELECTRICS JOURNAL.

No paper will be published without both a transfer of Copyright form and a Transmittal form. Please send signed forms along with your manuscript to the IWRF-2018 Secretariat at iwrf-2018@sfu.ca by July 18, 2018.

Please note that Ferroelectrics uses CrossCheck™ software to screen papers for unoriginal material. By submitting your paper to Ferroelectrics you are agreeing to any necessary originality checks your paper may have to undergo during the peer review and production processes.

Submission of Manuscripts: Electronic manuscripts for IWRF-2018 should be sent to the IWRF-2018 Secretariat at iwrf-2018@sfu.ca. The manuscripts should be submitted in both MS Word and PDF formats. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a Copyright form and a Transmittal form. Both forms can be found here or above.

Permissions and Copyright: As an author, you are required to secure permission to reproduce any figures, tables, or extract from the text from sources other than your own. This applies to direct reproduction as well as “derivative reproduction” (where you have created a new figure or table which derives substantially from a Copyrighted source). All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper.

Title: Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces.

Abstracts: Authors must summarize each article in an abstract of no more than 100 words and avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text.

Illustrations: Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
• 300 dpi or higher
• Sized to fit on journal page
• EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
• Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files Color Reproduction
Color art will be reproduced in color in the online publication at no additional cost to the author. Color illustrations will also be considered for print publication. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print.

Tables and Figures: Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author’s name, and top edge indicated.

References: Identify references in the text by arabic numerals in brackets, and number consecutively in the Reference Section in order of their first mention. References should include:
• Names of all contributing authors (last names first)
• Title of article
• Title of journal (abbreviate according to the style of IndexMedicus) or book
• Volume number
• Location and name of publishing company (books only)
• Inclusive pages
• Year of publication
