The SFU Sapphire and Ruby Valorant esports club teams are a safe space for women and gender-diverse people to meet like-minded people and form bonds while participating in an activity they love – gaming. Speaking with members from both teams, it is apparent that having such a space has a positive influence on both their social and academic lives as SFU students.
