RESOURCES + OPERATIONAL UPDATES

INTRODUCING THE NEW VICE-PROVOST AND DEAN OF GRADUATE STUDIES

Mary O'Brien was initially attracted to the role due to SFU's reputation as a community that is open to new ideas and that does things differently. SFU, she says, is on an upward trajectory, and Graduate Studies is poised to play a central role in that future growth. Mary will start her new role on August 1st, while Jeff Derksen, the current dean and associate provost, will end his term on June 30th.

Recently, SFU’s Labour Relations team was alerted that aspects of the April Collective Bargaining Update were unclear. The APSA section has been amended to improve clarity about bargaining timelines and is being re-circulated for transparency.
