2016 CORS Undergraduate Student Paper Competition
Congratulations to our undergraduates who have once again represented our programs well at the Canadian Operational Research Society (CORS) annual meeting this week in Banff.
This year, two projects from our Math 402W Operations Research Clinic course were submitted to the CORS Undergraduate Student Paper Competition. Of 13 papers submitted, the SFU projects were two of the four chosen as finalists and invited to present their projects in Banff. While Waterloo did take the first prize this year, with a strong entry from their 8 month capstone projects, the team of Oshane Jackson and Ismael Martinez won an Honourable Mention, while the team of Jenny Hung, Bonnie Lo and Fanli Si also presented a high-quality entry.
