Bamdad Hosseini wins Student Paper Prize from SIAM
The SIAM Student Paper Prize recognizes outstanding work by students in applied mathematics and computing. This prestigious international award is based "solely on the merit and content of the student's contribution to the submitted paper" (from the prize description).
Bamdad's paper extends the mathematical framework of Bayesian inversion to a much wider class of priors than is known in the literature. It also demonstrates the effectiveness of this novel approach through important applications.
