Undergrad Operation Research
Special congratulations to our undergraduate operations research students, who won both first and second prizes in the student paper competition of the Canadian Operations Research Society this year (undergraduate category). They presented their work at the CORS conference in Vancouver. There were a total of 10 teams for the competition. The winning work was the result of the project done by the students in the course Math 402W, Operations Research Clinic, an experiential learning course taught by Dr. Abraham Punnen in 2013 Spring. The winning teams and their project titles are as follows: Benny Wai, Alex Liu, Lawrence Huen, “Selecting Optimal Locations of Food Trucks:A Case Study for the City of Vancouver” (First Prize). Bo Chen, Luheng Wang, Wenjiao Chen, and Xiao Luo "The University Course Selection Problem: Efficient Models and Experimental Analysis" (second Prize).
