SFU Burnaby Math Camp for Teachers

Designed for middle and high school mathematics teachers, the SFU Math Camp prepares teachers with new activities to get their students excited about math, and features guest speakers who are leaders in mathematics education. This year's theme is Algorithmic Thinking, Coding and Problem Solving and will be led by Malgorzata Dubiel and Jamie Mulholland from the Department of Mathematics, SFU.

This year’s camp will be held July 3rd - 6th, 9:00 - 15:00, in the Trottier Studio [SC C9051 in the Chemistry Department] at the SFU Burnaby Campus. The camp is sponsored by a grant from the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences, and by the Department of Mathematics, SFU.

Application Deadline & Fees

The camp registration fee, which includes lunch and refreshments, is $80 for full-time teachers and $50 for student teachers. Apply by Friday, June 22nd, 2018 HERE.

Directions & Parking

Buses

Get off at the Transportation Centre stop and walk towards the Academic Quadrangle. From the Convocation Mall area, go one level up the stairs, then turn right along the sidewalk under the trees. Enter the building through the glass door on your left, past the trees. Go up the stairs and turn right. Pass the CIBC banking machine and look for the door to the Chemistry Department—it’s just around the corner.

From the Convocation Mall area, go one level up the stairs, then go right along the sidewalk under the trees. Enter through the glass door on your left, past the trees. Go up the stairs and turn right. Pass the CIBC cash machine and look for the door to the Chemistry Department—it’s just around the corner.

If you need to use the elevator, enter to the right of the big stairs—the elevator will be in front of you to the right. Go to the 3rd floor, and turn left when you exit the elevator. Walk down the hall until you see the CIBC banking machine and look for the glass double doors to the left of the machine.

Parking

Visitor paid parking is available anywhere in Parking Lot B (also known as East Parking). Short term paid parking is available next to the Cornerstone Building.
