About the Calculus Readiness Test
The SFU Math Department sets prerequisites for the following courses:
If you’re not sure whether your math knowledge is where it needs to be to succeed in a calculus course, or if your math background is not recent, we recommend that you take the Calculus Readiness Test, or try a practice test.

Please note that this test can be written one time only; test rewrites are not allowed. Test details and Registration details are directly below. Please read carefully.
Test Details
 You will have 90 minutes to write the test. The alotted time begins automatically when you start the test and expires automatically when the time is up. You can write the test during any 90 minute period of the open times. Please note that the test site closes at 4:00pm, so the latest you should begin writing is 2:30pm.
 Testing will be done in Canvas remotely. Instructions for accessing the test will be emailed once you have successfully registered.
 There are 30 questions on the test. You must score at least 24 out of 30 to enrol in Math 151, and at least 20 out of 30 for each other calculus course.
 All questions are multiple choice.
 The tests should be written with a 4function calculator only.
 The test can only be written a single time. Rewrites are not allowed.

If you wish to write the test, please follow these instructions.
Identify your preferred test date from the dates listed above.
Email qtest@sfu.ca with “Calculus Readiness Test” in the subject line to schedule the test. You MUST email from your SFU email account and include the following in the body of the email:
 Your full legal name
 Your student number
 Your computing ID
 Your preferred test date to write the test.
 The reason you are taking the test (i.e., in which Intro Calculus course do you wish to enrol?)
You will be sent an email confirmation with further details.
Please do not send multiple emails.
Deadline to Register
The latest students can register is 2pm on the business day prior their test date. If the test is on a Monday, the latest students can register is the Friday before at 2pm.
Exam Practice
Since you can only take the Calculus Readiness Test once, you should become familiar with the list of assessment topics and try the practice test beforehand.
