Math Catchers Outreach Program visited the Dakelh territory in Prince George B.C.  Dr. Veselin Jungic and Lindsay Clifton visited Blackburn Elementary School where we had the opportunity to meet 2 classrooms from grades 4 and 5 for the morning.  We were able to spend about an hour in each class.  We did math puzzles, Mobius strips and played with math toys.  The students were delighted by the math puzzles but loved doing the Mobius strips.  When we had the students twist the mobius strip twice they were amazed that they got two joining links.  The students then turned those two links into pretend handcuffs.  When playing with the math toys they would climb into the giant ball and try to close it.   The students enjoyed the math toys.  Hopefully the students were inspired by our presentation and want to learn everything they can in math.  It was wonderful meeting all the teachers and students of Blackburn Elementary School. We would like to thank Marie Fanshaw for inviting us to visit your school.  We adored our time with you in your school.
