Erik Kjeang's Canada Research Chair in Fuel Cell Science and Technology renewed
The Canada Research Chair (CRC) Program aims to attract and retain diverse world-class researchers, and to reinforce academic research and training excellence in Canadian post-secondary institutions. This week, the renewal of mechatronics professor Erik Kjeang’s Tier 2 CRC in Fuel Cell Science and Technology was announced.

Kjeang’s research is focused on enhancing the longevity of devices used for electrochemical energy systems. A leader in the area of fuel cell technology and hydrogen energy systems, Kjeang’s research advancements will have an impact in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reducing the cost of the technology and accelerate the technology’s commercialization in Canada. It will also help move research in the use of clean fuels, such as hydrogen, into the zero-emission transportation sector.
