Explores the lives of Greeks under Ottoman rule and how the Ottoman systems of administration and taxation, as well as culture and religion, affected and influenced them. Examines how they maintained a Hellenic identity and how this identity contributed to their struggle for independence. Students with credit for HS 278 may not take HIST 278 for further credit.
