Description

CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

Regression and data analysis techniques for health research. Practical approaches to linear and logistic regression, multivariable modelling, interaction, variable selection, confounding, and measures of association. Computer-based laboratory exercises using statistical software applied to health datasets.

COURSE DETAILS:

Prerequisite: STAT 302
Recommended: HSCI 330

Regression and data analysis techniques for health research. Computer-based laboratory exercises using statistical software applied to health datasets.

Course Format:
A single three hour lecture using RStudio software on the student computer for hands on data analysis.

  • Participation 20%
  • Activity Sheets 20%
  • Midterm and Final Exam 60%

NOTES:


Assignments must be handed in on time, late assignments will not be marked. You may discuss ways to approach homework with other students. However, each homework project must be your own independent work. Missing exams due to illness: you are required to contact the instructor prior to the exam by e-mail or in person. A medical doctors note specifying the date of your absence is required when you return to the class. Make up exams cannot be given without a doctor's note.
