CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:
Explores the landscapes of practitioner inquiry, including its histories, affiliated paradigms and approaches, as well as ethical considerations.
COURSE DETAILS:
This course is an introduction to Practitioner Inquiry, with content ranging from conceptualization to practical application. The course is designed to develop student understanding of epistemologies, theories, methodologies, and methods of a variety practitioner inquiry approaches. Practical experience in developing inquiry projects and an introduction to data collection and analysis in collegial settings is also a component of the course.
Thursday evenings: May 15 – August 7 2025
Meeting Times: 4:30 PM - 8:20 PM
COURSE-LEVEL EDUCATIONAL GOALS:
- understand the underlying epistemological and theoretical assumptions of research
- understand the research design process
- become familiar with common practitioner inquiry approaches
- become familiar with data collection and analysis
- develop a personal practitioner inquiry project
