COURSE DETAILS:

This capstone course is a core requirement of the Master of Public Health (MPH) program. The course serves as an integrative learning experience (ILE) that demonstrates a synthesis of foundational and concentration competencies in public health. The capstone experience will provide students with an opportunity to work individually, in teams and at the cohort level to integrate and enhance their capabilities in 4 areas (leadership/teaming; interdisciplinarity/reflexivity; application of frameworks/systems thinking; community-based/communication). Working as a cohort, MPH students will unpack a complex health challenge and present solutions to address the challenge.

COURSE-LEVEL EDUCATIONAL GOALS:

Upon completing this course, students will demonstrate: i) integration and application of theory and selected practices to address a complex public health challenge in a team-based setting; ii) enhanced mastery of selected specialized and generalized competencies relevant to the students' career pathway; iii) readiness for transition to professional practice settings.
