CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:
Explores structural, community, and embodied experiences of illness and health under racial capitalism. Draws on ethnography, poetic and visual documentary, labour history, and critical global health to foreground workers’ struggles alongside people’s everyday practices of interpreting and healing sickness as starting points for solidarity and the refusal of work. Students who have taken LBST 203 in Spring 2025 or LBST 330 in Spring 2026 may not take this course for further credit. Breadth-Social Sciences.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY: YOUR WORK, YOUR SUCCESS
At SFU, you are expected to act honestly and responsibly in all your academic work. Cheating, plagiarism, or any other form of academic dishonesty harms your own learning, undermines the efforts of your classmates who pursue their studies honestly, and goes against the core values of the university.
