  2. was writing a letter
  3. has read a book
  4. had been being shaved the man.

Indicate the rules required to derive the above from their underlying logical structures. Draw out the full NP for #1. You may leave NP abbreviated for the remaining phrases.

Download the current version of the computer program (from the same site). Generate the following forms:

  1. cook the two geese (active)
  2. (be) cooked the goose (passive)
  3. chase several mice (active)
  4. (be) chased this mouse (passive)

Note: the auxiliary verb can't be generated yet.
