Exercise 3:

Draw a tree diagram showing the derivation of the phrases below indicating agreement, filling NIL features. Be sure to include any links that may occur.

1. eat rice
2. see the river
3. buy a book
4. visit two friends

For the first sentence, indicate in a list each rule that you have applied to get from the underlying L-structure (EAT NULL NULL RICE) to "eat rice". Note that the first NULL is [D -Def] and the second one [Qu -Ct, -Pl, -Qf, -Fv].
