indicating agreement, filling NIL features. Be sure to include any links that may occur. Indicate all the rules that are necessary for number 4.
Generate the following sentences on Grammar 3 6FE:
1. see the two young cats.
2. buy the ten old cars.
3. wash an orange ox.
4. sell three orange oxen.
5. read this old book.
6. chase few old geese.
7. notice the new police.
8. eat hot rice.
I decided to follow my own advice, and found out we cannot generate sentences 7 or 8 as they are. I'm waiting for a special rule from Siavash so it will be the right one from the beginning. The problem occurs in the null quantifier. What happens if you make the null quantifier plural in 7 when you try to do 8? What happens if you make the null quantifier singular in 8 when you try to do 7?
Answer these two questions in lieu of working these out on the computer.
