1. Derive the structure for the following sentence starting with its propositional structure:
(1) Sally is writing a letter.
This sentence (1) includes the progressive aspect. Use the tools that you already know to determine the propositional form and derive the surface structure. Assume the A-proposition whose head is ASPECT which takes two features: [±Prog] (progressive). Treat VOICE as [-Pass], which is spelled out with the features [-Bound], [-Weak], [empty] (phonological content).
2. Next, draw the initial and final structure of (2) and (3), and show as much of the derivation as you can of the following sentence in the final structure. Here, we can skip some intermediate steps:
(2.) Are we seen on TV by everyone?
(3) Many houses are painted in a year.
