A left turn switch from w/b Hastings to s/b Nanaimo has been converted from selectric (directional) operation to power on/power off operation. Those who know this intersection know that the left turn is made from the w/b Hastings express wire, and just before this switch is another switch to change from the local wire to the express wire.
This switch conversion follows the recent conversion of the left turn switch from w/b Robson to s/b Howe from selectric operation to power on/power off operation.
Both of the above-mentioned left turn switches have the contactors situated about 40-50 feet before the switch, resulting in long lead wires between the contactors and the switch.
