Pyrochlore Iridates

Synopsis

Pyrochlore iridates constitute a promising platform to study exotic quantum matter resulting from the competition between electron-electron interactions and strong spin-orbit-coupling. I will give an overview over the crystal structure and basic properties of this material class (following Refs. [1,2] of the article), and then discuss the recent measurement of the magnetic properties of Eu2-Ir2-O7 presented in http://arxiv.org/abs/1603.08022.
