Celebrating Dr. Ross' Retirement

On February 26 we celebrated the long and outstanding career of Dr. Douglas Ross, who retired from SFU as of January 1, 2019.

Doug began his career at SFU in 1988. His research interests included Canadian foreign and defence policies, strategic studies and arms control, and national security. He authored a major study on Canada's involvement in the Vietnam War and has been published in numerous domestic and international journals as well as edited essay collections. He is the winner of innumerable grants and awards and is the previous recipient of the SFU Excellence in teaching Award (1996).  

Doug has previously served as Director of the Centre for International Studies (1988-1992), Chair of the Undergraduate Program Committee in Political Science (1993-1995), Chair of the Graduate Program Committee in Political Science (1191-1992; 1999-2001; 2010-2014), and Director of the Canadian-American Strategic Review (2003-2004).

We thank Doug for his many years of service to the Political Science department.
