Dr. Lara Aknin awarded Newsmaker of the Year

Professor and Social Psychology Area Coordinator, Dr. Lara Aknin has been awarded 2022 SFU Emerging Thought Leader (ETL) Newsmaker of the Year. 

The SFU Newsmaker awards recognize members of the SFU community who have demonstrated outstanding media relations, online engagement, and communications strategy.

Congratulations to Dr. Lara Aknin, whose exposure has skyrocketed over the last two years, with a plethora of media mentions on popular platforms such as the Daily Mail, Entrepreneur, Euronews, SF Gate and the National Post. Aknin's research on well-being and pandemic restrictions has gone global, reaching outlets in South America, India, and Europe.
