Downtown Vancouver sites will come alive, thanks to SFU Community Summit TILT City teams

by Charlie Smith, November 3, 2015, straight.com

Something very unusual will be taking place in Vancouver on Wednesday (November 4).

Squads of citizens will be "activating city sites" to breathe more life into the downtown core.

It's called TILT City, which is part of SFU's annual Community Summit. This year's theme explores city building.

Dozens of teams will choose their locations by throwing darts at a map of the downtown.

Then they'll head out to these spots with a limited amount of time to add a creative spark.

“How do you make a downtown street corner a fun, connected and creative space? At TILT City teams will concoct, craft, and create urban street art or miniperformances,” Shauna Sylvester, executive director of SFU Public Square, says in a news release.
