City of Vancouver and SFU host a forum on the future of Vancouver’s economy on February 25
The City of Vancouver, in partnership with SFU, will host an online panel discussion titled Future Economy: Prosperous, Sustainable and Resilient this Thursday (February 25).
The fourth event in the series The Future We Want: The Change We Need, the forum will be moderated by Veronika Bylicki, executive director and co-founder of CityHive, and prof. Peter Hall of SFU's Urban Studies Program.
"Join us as we discuss what is required to transition to a city of economic health and diversity," reads the event info. "Our panel will bring diverse perspectives on the future of Vancouver’s economy. We’re also looking forward to hearing your ideas on how to ground equity, reconciliation and sustainability in the local economy."
Speakers will include Megaphone executive director Julia Aoki, Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association president Charles Gauthier, Indigenomics Institute CEO Carol Anne Hilton, Sustainabiliteens organizer Naia Lee, EMBERS Eastside Works manager Johanna Li, Chinatown Legacy Stewardship Group co-chair Michael Tan, the City Program at SFU director Andy Yan, and Squamish Nation hereditary chief Ian Campbell.
