Canada Foundation for Innovation
The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) provides investments in infrastructure, across the full spectrum of research, from the most fundamental to applied through to technology development. The cutting-edge projects funded through CFI not only produce real benefits for people everywhere, but they also result in inspiring stories of Canadian innovation.
See the list of SFU funded projects on the Canada Foundation for Innovation website.
Exceptional Opportunities Fund (EOF-COVID-19)
The EOF-COVID-19 fund supports urgent needs for equipment for ongoing research related to COVID-19. It is for instances where “an exceptional research opportunity would be missed” if a project was subject to the normal national competition process.
The CFI Innovation Fund provides investments in infrastructure, across the full spectrum of research, from the most fundamental to applied through to technology development. Projects funded through the Innovation Fund will help Canada remain at the forefront of exploration and knowledge generation while making meaningful contributions to generating social, health, environmental and economic benefits and addressing global challenges.
John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF)
The John R. Evans Leaders Fund is a critical strategic investment tool designed to help institutions attract and retain the very best of today’s and tomorrow’s researchers. JELF enables a select number of an institution’s excellent researchers to undertake leading-edge research by providing them with the foundational research infrastructure required to be or become leaders in their field.
