SAS/ACCESS Interface to CA-DATACOM/DB: Reference

Validation of Data Values

The interface view engine does not validate the incoming data. That is, it does not check to see whether invalid data were entered in a CA-DATACOM/DB table, for example, nonpacked data into a packed type field. However, it does check for SAS format return codes from retrievals and moves missing values into the retrieved row if errors occur. No checking takes place for updates or WHERE clause processing.
