LAN Environment

Animation

When the Animation feature is turned on during a simulation in the LAN environment, small icons appear to traverse the arcs between equipment models. These icons represent simulated packets transmitted over your network model. Three different packet icons are used during animation to denote different types of packets. They are

                pkt.gif (100 bytes)
data packet
                cpkt.gif (53 bytes)
configuration packet (routing protocol information)
                jpkt.gif (53 bytes)
jamming packet (only used on CSMA/CD LANs)
Animation should have no effect on your simulation results; its primary value is for debugging your model and demonstrations.
