Changes and Enhancements to SAS/STAT Software in V7 and V8

Overview

This chapter summarizes the major changes and enhancements to SAS/STAT software in Versions 7 and 8. All of these changes and enhancements are incorporated into the individual procedure chapters and are described in greater detail.

With Version 7 of SAS/STAT software, the PLS, KRIGE2D, and VARIOGRAM procedures became production. These procedures were experimental in Release 6.12. With Version 8, the SURVEYSELECT, SURVEYMEANS, SURVEYREG, KDE, LOWESS, TPSPLINE, and NLMIXED procedures become production. These procedures were experimental in Version 7.
