Distributed object architectures provide a platform that supports the development of component-based applications. These architectures mandate component interface contracts, which are documented through an interface definition language (IDL) as the foundation upon which interoperability is achieved. This contractual interoperability enables the development of rich composite applications and provides extensive reusability and deployment flexibility.
