SAS/ACCESS Software : SAS/ACCESS Interface to CA-DATACOM/DB

Version 8 of SAS/ACCESS Interface to CA-DATACOM/DB software communicates with base SAS software using a Version 6 compatibility engine. The compatibility engine enables you to create SAS/ACCESS views that are compatible with Version 6 and to use data that is stored in Version 6 format without converting the data to Version 8 format. The interactive windowing interface is not supported. You can no longer create and update access descriptors and view descriptors by using the Access Descriptor and View Descriptor windows. You must create and update access descriptors and view descriptors by using a line-mode interface.
