qaʔ yəxʷ - water honours us: womxn and waterways
SCA MFA student Krystle Coughlin is part of the exhibition 'qaʔ yəxʷ - water honours us: womxn and waterways' at the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art, which runs April 10 to October 2, 2019. Curated by the ReMatriate Collective, the exhibition explores "water as a crucial element of creation, its historical uses for survival, and contemporary over-consumption as a threat to sensitive coastal ecosystems." Also included in the exhibition are artists Richelle Bear Hat, Tiffany Creyke, Tsēmā Igharas, Lindsay Katsitsakataste Delaronde, Denver Lynxleg, Alison Marks, Dionne Paul, Angela Marie Schenstead, Kali Spitzer, Marika Echachis Swan, Carrielynn Victor, Veronica Rose Waechter, and Water Keeper Audrey Siegl. Coughlin is also presenting her graduating work as part of the SCA MFA spring exhibition and performance series seams, which opens Friday May 3 at 6:00pm at the Audain Gallery and runs until May 11, 2019.
