Earth Sciences

The Department of Earth Sciences conducts innovative research that shapes the way in which we understand Earth’s evolution. This has positioned us to address the growing challenges of resource security and sustainability, climate change and natural hazards. With a diverse and vibrant teaching and research environment, and a "small school" feel, we provide outstanding hands on training and experiential learning for graduate and undergraduate students. Our undergraduate program is designed to enable students to meet the requirements for registration as a Professional with the Engineers & Geoscientists of BC (EG BC), in order pursue exciting and rewarding careers in the Earth Sciences.
