"Super seniors and the genetics of healthy aging"

Dr. Brooks-Wilson, an Assoc. Professor in SFU’s Biomedical Physiology and Kinesiology department and a Distinguished Scientist at the BC Cancer Agency, shares some of her insights from her Healthy Aging Study.  The study involves over 500 “Super Seniors” aged 85 – 105, who have never been diagnosed with cancer, cardiovascular disease, major pulmonary disease, Alzheimer disease or diabetes.  This research study looks at genetic features that correlate with long-term good health in these exceptional individuals.
