SFU Health Research Day

April 10, 2014

The Faculty of Science participates in the 2014 SFU Health Research Day with approximately 20 speakers giving En'lightening talks (3 minutes, 1 slide) 18 poster entries and 4 four-minute pitching talks.

The event provides a rare opportunity to network across disciplines and campuses, to learn about the changing health research environment, to discover the diversity of science and innovation occurring at SFU focussed on treating and addressing disease, and promoting health and wellbeing, and, for the first time, hear research “pitches” for new collaborators.

Featured Highlights for the day:

  • Keynote address by the CIHR Scientific Director, and the next SFU Vice President, Research Dr. Joy Johnson;
  • Moderated panels on external collaborations and multi-disciplinary research teams;
  • The ever popular rapid fire En’Lightening Rounds
  • Poster presentations by SFU trainees
  • Research “pitches”

This event celebrates the important contribution that SFU researchers are making to improving health locally, nationally and globally.
