We are excited to share that Paola Quiros will be joining the Sexual Assault Support & Prevention Office (SVSPP) as SFU’s Educator, Sexual Violence Prevention in November 2019.

Paola is originally from Colombia. She is a settler living on the traditional, unceded and occupied lands of the Musqueam, Squamish, Tsleil-Watuth and Kwikwetlem peoples. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Social Communication and Journalism from La Sabana University in Colombia. She also has a Certificate in International Development from the University of British Columbia.

Most recently Paola has been the SFSS Women’s Centre Coordinator where she managed all services provided to students at the centre while also offering support and workshops on sexual education, gender violence, sex positivity, and feminist issues. In the past seven years, Paola has worked in the non-profit sector holding a range of positions with a focus on client relations programs, women and refugee support, and internationally trained professionals offering crisis support, advocacy, and facilitating educational workshops.

Paola has a strong commitment to intersectional feminism and anti-oppressive practices. She constantly looks for ways to bring the voice of racialized people in everything she does. She believes that traditional and non-traditional methods of education should be utilized to bring transformative tools of knowledge to our communities.

Please join us in welcoming Paola into her new role with SFU’s SVSPO.
